European Technical Approval Guidelines (ETAGs) were established by the European Organisation of Technical Approvals under the Construction Products Directive - 89/106/EEC (CPD) - upon mandates of the European Commission. Member States were invited to publish these Guidelines in their official language(s). The reference document is the English version. Some other language versions were made publicly available by EOTA.

Available documents reflect the situation of ETAGs on 30th June 2013.

Since 2014, EOTA develops the ETAGs into EADs following the requirements set up in the Construction Products Regulation (EU) 305/2011.
