儿童自行车是指适合于4-8岁儿童骑行，最大鞍座高度为435mm~635mm，凭借作用于后轮的驱动机构骑行的自行车。有带或不带平衡轮的各种轮径、各种款式。儿童自行车不能用于公路骑行。

This International Standard specifies safety and performance requirements and test methods for the design, assembly and testing of fully assembled bicycles and sub-assemblies for young children. It also provides guidelines for instructions on the use and care of the bicycles. This International Standard is applicable to bicycles with a maximum saddle height of more than 435 mm and less than 635 mm, propelled by a transmitted drive to the rear wheel. It is not applicable to special bicycles intended for performing stunts (e.g., BMX bicycles). 本国际标准规定了儿童用全组装自行车和分总成的设计、组装和测试的安全和性能要求以及测试方法。它还为自行车的使用和保养提供指导。本国际标准适用于最大鞍座高度大于435 mm且小于635 mm的自行车，由传输驱动力驱动至后轮。它不适用于用于表演特技的特殊自行车（例如BMX自行车）。
