草坪修剪机，是指主要用于割草机修整完的草坪的边角及树下等区域的整理。草坪修剪机不是割草机。工作原理：草坪修剪机，电动驱动（或者汽油动力），通过电（交流或直流）驱动马达，由马达带动割草绳或者塑胶刀片等高速旋转（7500～12000rpm，甚至更高）切割草茎。

This European Standard specifies mechanical safety requirements and testing for the design and construction of electrically powered walk-behind and hand-held lawn trimmers and lawn edge trimmers, with cutting element(s) of non-metallic filament line or freely pivoting non-metallic cutter(s) with a kinetic energy of not more that 10 J each, and used by a standing operator primarily for cutting grass. 本欧洲标准规定了电动步行式、手持式草坪修剪机和草坪边缘修剪机的设计和建造的机械安全要求和测试，其切割元件为非金属丝线或自由旋转的非金属切割机，每个切割机的动能不超过10 J，由站立的操作员主要用于割草。
